#6 Rising Angel

This is another try at these miss angels. Enjoyed recreating this, although it's not finished. I think this will end up being on a canvas as graphite and oil.

Uni has started again and so I'm trying to keep focussed. I'm blaming that for still being one image behind in this one a day thang. I will catch up it's just a matter of when. :) I am currently enjoying some sour skittles, so all is well with the world.

#5 Sketches

Found it way too cold to drag myself to the computer room yesterday so didn't end up uploading anything. I was however still drawing and here is my evidence:

They're still rough, obviously, but I'm thinking of doing a series of paintings/illustrations of this idea. I want to look into drawing bigger, thicker wings. The fluffy but sturdy kind you tend to see on hard core angels. And, of course, I need a good number of other poses. So I wouldn't be surprised if for the next few days I upload certain variations or continuations of this.

I've been absorbing info from http://www.vectortuts.com/ for the past couple of days and OMG, do I love their gems or what?! I've learnt so many new things already and I've only just scratched the surface. Only a few of them reflect in this timid drawing but more will emerge soon I'm sure.

#2 Swing Away

Almost forgot! And it's only my second day in!

I'm actually managing to start my uni course work early. This does seem to happen at the beginning of every semester, then the motivation wears off. NOT THIS TIME. Fingers crossed!!

Wow! An hour goes fast! May not look like much, but #1 is a huge leap forward for me.

Surely having to draw at least once a day will get my skills up and creative juices flowing! Here's hoping :D

One a Day Keeps the Fail Marks At Bay

In cruising through the Australian INfront website (http://www.australianinfront.com.au/) I came across this awesome idea for keeping the creative juices flowing. It's making the decision to create a new drawing/illustration/image a day. One a day. Sounds simple, right? Well the Uni semester is about to start back up, and I tend to get very distracted working on other projects. So... no matter what it looks like, I'm not going to spend any more than an hour on each illustration each day.

The member of AIF who posted about one a day is powering through, up to #165 (http://thecreativepanic.com/) at the moment! I hope that I'll get that far, but for now I'm setting the goal at one month. So an illustration a day until 06/08/2011. Hopefully I'll extend at that stage, but hey, I've got to start small.

I'd better get to #1 underway and uploaded. Wish me luck!
